DEVELOPMENT ENGINEER

Reporting to: Technical Manager



In order to progress an aggressive new product development roadmap of ventilation products with the overall aim to considerably increase turnover by the introduction of both major new strategic product ranges and continued smaller scale tactical products within a short timescale, there is a requirement for a Development Engineer to work with both the Technical Manager and the New Product Manager to fully develop these initiatives into working products.



Managing the development function of multiple design projects at various stages from conception through to production



Where applicable, carrying out in-house testing and reporting



Carrying out desktop research and reporting as and when necessary



Assisting in the establishment of standard systems of work for the technical office



Liasing with external customers, consulting engineers and contractors to satisfy their technical support needs



Liasing with Marketing with regard to input to new products, technical and commercial literature



Liaising with relevant personnel to assist in the identification of improvement opportunities for the business



PERSON SPECIFICATION



Able to demonstrate a thorough understanding of product development process and mitigation of development risk



Must be able to demonstrate a good working knowledge of current plastic production processes



Knowledge and experience in a domestic ventilation or closely associated discipline

Experience of working within a quality assurance system e.g. BS EN ISO 9000 : 2000

Computer literate including 2D and 3D CAD skills.
